Build OpenCV for Embarcadero RAD studio XE2

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I'm new to this board and don't speak Russian. I come from the Netherlands and want to use OpenCV on Embarcadero RAD studio XE2.

Is there anyone who can help me starting this up, step by step?

I just downloaded the OpenCV library from this site: http://opencv.org/downloads.html version 2.4.3 for Windows.

After this I extracted it and everything is placed in d:\opencv.

Now I should build opencv for the right platform, RAD studio. Now I don't know how to do this. Is there anyone who can help?

Greetings,

DreeOlee.

I did see this topic but I have to translate the Russian language and that is not always clear to me. Can you translate the Russian text inside the LibConverter to English? I want to make a kind of "getting started guide" for opencv and embarcadero RAD studio because there is almost nothing to find from this. Thanks for now.

Have you seen this link?

http://code.opencv.org/issues/2057

I can translate text in sources, but I have not installed any Builder IDE now, you'll have to build it by yourself.

There is great disadvantage of using opencv (converted libs) with borland compilers, there is no support of C++ interface (no Mat only IplImage*).

Try to build libs with borland compiler as described in link above.

Here is sources with translated text.

I have not translated the text on the button it can be translated as "Start convert".

You have to select directory in left directory tree and then select lib files in list. When files selected press "convert" button.

LibConverter.rar

Thanks Smorodov. I think it's better to switch to an other IDE. It's disappointing that RAD is not supported. It cost to much time and there will always be problems. Thanks for your support and time.

Dear Smorodov,

So far, I have been used OpenCV with Qt. However, I would like to use OpenCV with Embarcadero C++ Builder (XE7).

Would you kindly help me or address a forum message to handle this issue, I will be pleased.

Thank you in advance.
